SuperSync is published as a single executable installer file. After downloading the installation
file, you can install the application on your machine by double clicking on the executable
installer.
The installer creates a folder in your program files directory, by default, and copies all the
necessary file to it.
It then creates a shortcut on your desktop and a program group in your start menu.
Finally, the SuperSync installer creates a Windows service on your machine.
SuperSync Service Security
Please note that if you are an administrator and want to install SuperSync on a server,
you might have to change the security settings of the SuperSync installed service to
allow the application access to secure directories. By default Windows services use
the default system account, but I highly recommend you create a new user for
SuperSync and grant it access to the directories that you want your network users to
synchronize with.
Installing
Start by running the file "SuperSyncSetup1.5.0.5.exe".
The first screen of the SuperSync installer is the welcome screen.
Click on Next to continue.
You will have to read and accept the license terms before continuing. The Next button
remains disabled until you confirm you accept the terms of the license. You accept the license
by checking the box to the left of "I accept the terms in the License Agreement".
Depending on the type of install you want, you can deselect the component which is not
required.
The client component is the user interface used to create sync folder pairs and initiate
synchronization actions.
The server component is the SuperSync service which runs in the background and does the
file diff analysis, handing back to clients actions which they need to execute.
If you are unsure, leave the default setting, both client and server components checked.
Click Next to continue.
You can change the location where the installer copies the files required to run SuperSync.
The default is a sub directory of your system's program files directory.
Click Next to continue.
This screen allows you to define the name of the program group name where the SuperSync
shortcuts will be created.
If unsure, leave the default settings and click Install.
Congratulations, you have just installed SuperSync.
Click Finish to start the application.
When the application starts, it should look similar to the snapshot below.
If you are upgrading from a previous version, SuperSync will automatically detect any folder
pair settings you might have and upgrade them to the latest version for you.
